About Us

Since 1988 United Midwest has provided equipment and services for cities, water districts and industries. Al Brown and Bob Shankel have over 50 years experience in pumping and treating water and wastewater.  Ana Hurtado is our inside sales and administrative assistant.  The United Midwest office is located at 10679 Widmer Rd, Lenexa, Kansas, 66215.  Lenexa is a southwestern suburb of Kansas City, Missouri.

Al specializes in pumping systems, especially fire protection systems.  He has traveled the world over installing fire pump systems.   He's also an ardent bridge player and spends many Friday evenings with his bridge club or playing in tournaments.  His car license plate, "7NTXX", attests to his passion.

Bob works with blowers, storage tanks, process equipment and control systems.  He has a degree in chemical engineer and is always looking for a better, more efficient and cost effective way to solve our customer's problems.  He has many other interests including being active in church and a golfer.  In fact, we sometimes wonder how he does it all.

Ana keeps track of all those details like delivery and invoices.  She keeps thing going especially when Bob and Al are out of the office.
